First, let's get the cornfield taken care of. This is what a cornfield looks like in western Kansas -- a whole lot bigger than the cornfields in Ohio or Illinois. :-)

I really do love travelling across the Plains. Wouldn't want to live here, because being in the center of the continent it has horrendous winters and ferocious summers -- but it is so spacious and in its own way, so beautiful. I love the way the eyes stretch out all the way to the horizon, the pale pastel colors, the big skies and the cloudscapes (although today didn't have particularly beautiful skies.) It's a feeling of peacefulness and relaxation.
